Barbara called Saturday with sad news that Jordie Larsen passed away. He was the head of the English Department at Box Elder High. Barbara is going to send a floral arrangement from our class.
She also said that Classmates Bob Adams and Bruce Merrell each lost their moms this month.

He was a great teacher - learning those 40-line stanzas and a saying every day.

Ray Friess
I don't remember him. He was teaching our class years?

Jean Barnum Holden
I never had Jordie, but my sister did and the stanzas were repeated often our home.

Jordan was one of the great influences on me in high school. I learned to love and appreciate poetry and literature through him. He was tough but passionate. Remember "The Plain English Handbook" and the hours we copied each page over and over again!

Copied from an Email from Ralph Kolts:
Jordi Larson was a very influential and memorable teacher. To this day I still remember the first 30 lines of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. I recite it to my grandkids periodically just to amaze them:

“Whan that Aprille with his shoures soote
The droghte of Marche hath perced to the roote,
And bathed every veyne in swich licour,
Of which vertu engendred is the flour . . .”
Thank-you Jordie. Blessings and peace to your family.
